Built
as one.
A hand-laminated gyuto built around a 26C3 carbon-steel core and mild-steel cladding. Blade, handle, and saya were developed together so the entire piece carries one continuous visual language.
Mild-steel san-mai
Lily-white Washita
Holly · Washita

The mild-steel cladding keeps the weathered texture of its making above the polished cutting geometry. The contrast preserves the memory of the forge instead of erasing it.

The knife does not end at the blade.
The saya carries the Bolivian rosewood beyond the handle, cut by a line of holly and a circular lily-white Washita inlay. A forged copper pin closes the composition. Every element was shaped for this knife; nothing was chosen as interchangeable hardware.
Steel, stone, wood, and copper are allowed to keep their own voices. The goal is not perfect uniformity, but tension held in balance—a composition whose geometry, weight, texture, and material resolve into one object.
